HyperBac First To Announce Support for SQL Server 2008

August 7, 2008 – HyperBac for SQL Server is the first backup software vendor to announce full backup and object recovery support for SQL Server 2008.

HyperBac for SQL Server with it's unique service based architecture, is the first product to provide full support for SQL Server 2008. HyperBac provides seamless backup compression and encryption for all editions of SQL Server 2008 including Standard Edition. Furthermore, unlike all other products available on the market, HyperBac does not install any components inside the SQL Server 2008 instance (including extended stored procedures, etc). This provides customers a seamless upgrade path from SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2008 without modifying the new SQL Server instance whatsoever.

HyperBac for SQL Server's Backup Explorer OLEDB Backup Object Recovery Provider is also the first product of it's kind to announce full support for granular backup object level recovery from SQL Server 2008 backup devices. This allows customers to query SQL Server 2008 backup devices using Linked Servers and standard TSQL SELECT statements, viewing and recovering row level data from backup devices.
